These terms cover your use of DeenCompanion on iPhone, iPad and Android. By using the app, you agree to them. How the app treats your data is set out separately in our Privacy Policy.
DeenCompanion is free. There are no accounts, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads. It is offered for your personal, non-commercial use.
The Qur'an text, translations, tafsir, hadith, duʿās and other material in the app come from published sources, credited in About & Credits. The app presents them; it does not issue religious rulings. For anything that matters in your own practice, please consult a qualified scholar.
Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated on your device from your location, using established methods you can choose between. They can differ from your local mosque's timetable; where they do, follow your local community. In far northern and southern places some times cannot be taken from the sky and are estimated or adjusted instead — the app says so when that happens. Islamic dates are calculated, and may differ by a day from the sighting your community follows.
The texts, translations and recordings in the app belong to their authors, translators, publishers and reciters, who are credited in About & Credits. You may read and listen to them in the app; please don't copy or redistribute them from it beyond what their own terms allow.
If you hold the rights to anything in the app and would like it credited differently, changed or removed, please write to us at the address below and we will act on it promptly.
Editions in the Qur'an library are provided by Quran Foundation, under their terms. Copies you download stay on your device for offline reading. Quran Foundation may update or withdraw an edition at any time.
We take great care over the app's accuracy, but it is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from its use.
We may update these terms. When we do, the date above will change.
